CAIRing Grace Groups - Guidelines For Healing

The following guidelines help create a safe and healthy group environment during the meeting:

We do not directly confront others, except in issues of safety.

We avoid giving direct advice or putting others on the spot.

We share our comments with the whole group (no cross-talk).

We avoid playing the role of a therapist in the meetings.

We believe that we are not our story, and that our story affects where we are starting today.

We avoid trying to ‘fix’ or ‘take care of’ each other.

We respect the importance of silences in the meetings.

We honor the anonymity of the members in the group.

We maintain and respect the confidentiality of what is shared in the meetings.

We try to limit our sharing to approximately 5 minutes to allow time for others to share.
